We are excited to share what’s in store for preschoolers at Capital Christian Homeschool Community this fall!

Preschool Social Studies
During the social studies hour the first semester, students will have an introduction to social studies with “Me on the Map” by Little School of Smiths. This uses books, activities, and crafts to help preschoolers learn about their home, street, city, state, country, continent, and planet.
In the winter and spring, students will do a geography unit study to learn about our state and the other states surrounding us.

Preschool Literacy
During the writing hour, your preschoolers will learn all about letters through a Letter of the Week curriculum. From the names of each letter to the most common sounds they make, your child will be learning the letters through hands-on and engaging activities.
Each literacy class will begin with two picture books that go along with the two letters we will learn that day. Preschoolers and kindergartners will learn the letter names and sounds, followed by stations involving artwork, hands on play, and play some games.

Preschool Science
For science, preschoolers will learn about their incredible bodies using “Me and My Amazing Body” by Little School of Smiths. This is a great introduction unit study to learn about the human body and how it works.
This study guide is geared toward ages 4-8 and will help children learn many of the functioning parts of the body. It is compiled of 10 units and teaches children through books, hands on experiments, crafts, recipes, and fun videos!

Preschool Gym
Meeting days can be a long day for littles! So, for the last period, the gym will be available for preschool playtime along with some balls, toys, and a list of activities for preschool assistants to choose from.
