Student Behavior Policy
The Goal
With the mission and vision of Capital Christian Homeschool in mind, we ask students and adults to agree to upholding the following rules to show our love to our classmates, facilitators, students, and helpers, and to build a strong and healthy community.
Student Code of Conduct
I will…
- Be kind and respectful to others in what I say and do.
- Follow the directions given by facilitators.
- Keep hands, feet, and objects to myself.
- Respect other people’s property by not taking or damaging it.
- Respect the church by walking and not running (except in the gym), not playing with church equipment, and doing my setup and cleanup job.
- Care for Capital Christian supplies by using them carefully and as designed.
When rules are broken/forgotten, adults will give students:
- A verbal reminder
- Movement/change of place in class
- Have a helper adult sitting right next to the child during class and in the hallways
- Have the child take a break from class with an adult/parent
- A parent/guardian is required to sit by the child during the class
If rules are forgotten after the 5 reminders, students may have to sit out of class for a day or longer, based on the leadership’s assessment of the behavior.
If rules continue to be broken/forgotten after this point, the child may be dismissed from the group.

Bullying Policy
We have a no-bullying policy. Bullying can be described as unwanted behavior from a person or group that is either:
- intimidating, malicious, or belittling
- an abuse or misuse of power that undermines, humiliates, or causes physical or emotional harm to someone
The bullying might:
- be a regular pattern of behavior or a one-time incident
- happen face-to-face or in emails, calls, or social media
In most incidents, a facilitator meeting with the students involved is the first step, with notification to parents involved. Problem-solving for the individual situation should occur at this point, with written steps for the future.
If behaviors continue past the initial incident, leadership will meet to help solve the situation.
Depending on the seriousness of an incident and/or the level of concern from parents, Capital Christian leaders may require all persons involved and any witnesses to submit typed statements recording the details of the event.
Repeated situations of bullying may result in a student needing a parent chaperone in class or the student’s removal from class for a length of time decided by the leadership team. Continued situations after these measures are taken will result in dismissal from Capital Christian.

Adult Behavior Guidelines
For the group to run smoothly, everyone needs to work together and conduct themselves with kindness, looking out for others’ needs. Here are some ways we agree to do this as adults:
- Arrive on time.
- Be prepared for your class responsibilities.
- Stay on the premises while your students are in class (unless you have paid for pay-and-drop).
- Be aware of the fees of the group and all of the supplies needed. Pay the group fees and obtain materials needed for class before the start of the semester.
- Be willing to substitute if needed.
- Be kind and respectful to all members, including the students.
When rules are broken/forgotten, leadership will give adults:
If adult misconduct is serious enough in a first or second incident, leaders may choose a more serious consequence.
After 1 incident: A verbal reminder
After 2 incidents: A plan to help keep the adult accountable to the rules (could include shifting responsibilities)
After 3 incidents: A required hiatus from Capital Christian for a length of time determined by leaders
After 4 incidents: A shift to pay-and-drop family status or dismissal from Capital Christian.
